0:00 Has your administration had any big wins these first two years? We were building affordable homes. We were increasing the number of youth employment. We're opening up mental health clinics. Violence is down in the city of Chicago. When I brought our police department together to analyze it, now we have a 37% decrease in robberies. And we had the safest April since 1962. The lowest monthly number in more than 10 years. 29,000 young people will have summer jobs. That's 1,000 more positions this year.
0:30 I want to thank Mayor Johnson for funding programs like this. All young people deserve the opportunity to develop their skills and learn new trades. Where else in our country are we building affordable homes downtown? We built a one-system initiative to respond to homelessness in this city. The city will focus on adding more than 3,500 new beds to the shelter system. When people call for shelters in this city, for the first time in a decade, there's not a waiting list for a family. I'm the first mayor since Mayor here in Washington to invest in mental and public health. Mayor Brandon Johnson announcing this morning the Roseland Health Center is reopening.
1:03 Abolishing the subminimum wage and the pay time off ordinance and working to sure up our largest investment in the history of Chicago for affordable homes and economic development with our $1.25 billion investment. The Johnson proposed plan did pass and will provide funding for housing and economic development. Hugs for all as a mayoral campaign promise becomes reality with the passage of his Green Social Housing ordinance. We're transforming the city. Today feels like we're turning a page. The Chicago Teachers Union calls their new contract a transformational advancement.
1:36 97% voted yes in support of the contract. Our best days are still in front of us. Billions of dollars of new investments. Does that mean we got it? That means you got it. Oh. Thank you. Transforming this city block by block. As violence continues to go down and investments continue to go up. We have an opportunity for less life to be lost if we actually put in the hard work, roll up our sleeves, and not allow the narrative that comes from the outside to determine who we are as a city. And what my ultimate vision and goal is for the city of Chicago moving forward is to be the safest, most affordable, big city in America.
2:13 Can I count on you, Chicago? Well, you can count on me.
