# Research the record

Search the full text of thousands of Chicago City Council documents (ordinances, agreements, exhibits, agendas, meeting summaries, and meeting transcripts) by meaning, not just keywords. Or ask a question and get an answer drawn only from the documents, with every claim linked to its source.

Agents can use the same search: `GET /api/search?q=your+question` (optional `kind=meeting|matter`, `year=2026`), or the `search_documents` tool on our [MCP server](/mcp).
