Joseph Lewis on the financial planning analyst in the
city's Department of Housing for you. Today is a proposed
subdivision of certain property located at Hamlin Ridgeway
Courtland Street that is in the process of being
redeveloped as encuentro Square Face 1 which is a to
building 89 unit all affordable housing project located in
Ward 26. This project is currently under construction is
approximately one-third of the way constructed with the
city of Chicago and the developer closed on the public
financing necessary to begin Construction in June 2023. The
overall site is going to feature the encuentro Square Face
1 development as well as a public park and a portion of the
site is to be
Redevelop in connection with a future proposal for phase two
of the continued Redevelopment of the site is affordable
housing subdivision before you today is about preparing the
land so that to facilitate a transfer for the purpose of
developing the park with the parks District in the near
future. The portion of the land that is to go to the parks
district will be conveyed to that entity upon the
attainment of a note for the remediation letter from the
Illinois EPA additionally a portion of the site as I
mentioned earlier will be reserved for redevelopment in
connection with the future phase of this affordable housing
Redevelopment. So effectively the Eyrie subdivision is to
make make the odd the conveyance of the part portion of the
site to facilitate that activity as well as to have a
essentially like a clean Consolidated parcel.

so that a nonprofit Norwegian Lutheran Bethesda Home
Association could build this beautiful building which
remains there today and they owned it for almost a century,
but they sold it this summer to the applicant Nordica
property LLC, which is still a healthcare. Are you still a
nursing home? But a for-profit not a nonprofit. So what we
needed to do is to apply for this release of the old
condition that was on that century-old vacation. So I hope
it's a win-win for the city. We are going to pay $140,000
cash money to the city to release that Covenant Plus for
the first time in a century. The city's going to be at the
property is going to be back on the tax rolls. So I think
that's really great. None of the other folks who signed in
we're all in favor.
