At this time, we will begin the public comment period out of respect. Everybody's Out of respect for everybody's time. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. Our speaker timely signed up is Mr. Taiwan Sims Hey, good afternoon committee. I was um asking everybody how do they feel about the additional 50 cameras that will be added? To the city. when it's already 250 speed cameras, but then I thought about it. Um, in 2022 that was a small child killed Devin McGregor in my neighborhood, Rogers Park. he was killed at well, murdered in the drive by And so I thought from the vicinity and what he was that on Palina, you would come out on Chicago, Avenue, New all the speed cameras that are there. But still. Nobody's been caught up for his murder. And then we got Mayor Johnson. He said that he wanted to save 11 million. and that's what the What 50 new cameras will get us 11 million. However, that was a 11 million tag on the shot spotter. But that was removed in September 2024. So that's Public Safety. So that's 2 issues. But then they said, they won't disclose the locations of these cameras. However Lopez is on record saying that it should be in the most, what dangerous I guess, speed and zones, which is 47 and 63. And also they tracking data from crashes and all this other different stuff. But here it is. If he was trying to say money for those officers, what he said, 140 positions. But it's 250 positions that haven't been filled. I looked at it because I want to understand how much money would be saved. Aside from the 11 million dollars, which could have went to shot spotter. But Public Safety is not important to you all. But it says that there's a 800 since 2020 that's been 887 million, a loaded to the consent decree. But then, even in this year because you all just did the budget in November that was an additional 8.9 million. And also, another 2, 209 million added just to get this done. Which is a court order. So, And I wonder what, what, what do they need another 50 cameras for? What do we need them to be taxed more and more the city of Chicago with 830 million Bond? Notwithstanding the 1011 billion dollars that y'all took up last year. So we do decline into the junk area of this city. Ran into the hole. And you know what? They want to tax us and laspata. Remember you wanted to speed limit to go down to 25 miles per hour? You been the 1 Advantage for what cameras on on, on side of bus Depots, more taxation for the people. So, here it is. We say no to it. We say no to another scheme. Another get over on us. Please help us out. Thank you, sir. This concludes the public comment, period.
