# Chicago Police District Council election 2027: candidates by district Police District Council members are elected on the same ballot as the mayor and alderpersons, February 23, 2027. The [Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability](https://ccpsa.chicago.gov/2027dcelection/) explains the councils and the election. ## Candidates ### 17th District From the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners' receipts for nominating papers, as of October 21, 2026. The Board hasn't posted its list of filed candidates yet, so this list may be incomplete; we add filings as we receive them. | Candidate | Status | Filed | Petition pages | Signatures (our count) | Source | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Christina Pilto](/candidate/christina-pilto) | Filed | Oct 19, 2026 | 83 | n/a | [Board receipt](https://chicagoelections.gov/getting-ballot/candidates) | | [John Murphy](/candidate/john-murphy) | Filed | Oct 19, 2026 | 83 | n/a | [Board receipt](https://chicagoelections.gov/getting-ballot/candidates) | Petition pages is the number on the last page of the candidate's petition, from the Board's receipt. It isn't a signature count: each page holds a limited number of signatures, not every line is filled, and the Board checks how many are valid only if someone objects. ## Campaign committees registered for this race These people have a campaign committee registered with the Illinois State Board of Elections that names this race. That isn't the same as being on the ballot: candidates file nominating papers with the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, and appear under Candidates once the Board lists them. Many candidates, including most incumbents, don't update their committee's race, so this list is incomplete. **2nd District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | Dar'tavous Dorsey | [Dorsey for District Council](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41485) | Sep 15, 2026 | **7th District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | Robert Walker | [Friends for Robert Walker](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41349) | Aug 4, 2026 | **9th District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | Evelyn Aguayo | [9th District Community Safety Alliance](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41479) | Sep 30, 2026 | | Maximilian Esterhammer-Fic | [9th District Community Safety Alliance](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41479) | Sep 30, 2026 | **14th District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | David Canario | [Nia-Blessing, David, & Siobhan for 14th District Council](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41395) | Aug 28, 2026 | | Nia-Blessing Armstrong | [Nia-Blessing, David, & Siobhan for 14th District Council](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41395) | Aug 28, 2026 | | Siobhan Peterson-Quinn | [Nia-Blessing, David, & Siobhan for 14th District Council](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41395) | Aug 28, 2026 | | Steve Jensen | [Jensen for Chicago](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41455) | Sep 16, 2026 | **20th District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | Eric Smith | [DC 20 Alliance](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41503) | Oct 6, 2026 | | Nassir Faulkner | [DC 20 Alliance](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41503) | Oct 6, 2026 | | Rebecca Kling | [DC 20 Alliance](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41503) | Oct 6, 2026 | | Timothy Kennedy | [Friends of Timothy Kennedy](https://www.elections.il.gov/CampaignDisclosure/CommitteeDetail.aspx?ID=41444) | Sep 13, 2026 | **25th District** | Name | Campaign committee | Registered | | --- | --- | --- | | Carlos J.
